OPEN CITIES was established in 2006. We are a training and consulting company specialising in the design and delivery of economic change management both in the UK and internationally. We have particular expertise in:
• Organization and human resource management in public sector organizations
• Growth and employment strategies for cities and countries
• Cross-border procurement of professional services and the international promotion of public and quasi-public organizations
• Translation and interpretation (Arabic – English)
• Long term research, knowledge networks and best practice in the areas of economic development and public sector organization and HR
In February 2010 we launched OPEN CITIES (LIBYA) a training and consulting arm of OpenCities (UK) that specialises in training and consulting in Libya and North Africa. See further detail under ‘Services’.
Recent clients
Recent assignments include working for the economic development board of a world city; a large UK-based training provider; the world’s premier management consultancy; and the UK government. We have undertaken market research in the Middle East, advised a large property developer on the establishment of economic cities in the Gulf, built up the human resource capacity of a number of institutions in the financial sector in North Africa including performance management and graduate recruitment programs, undertaken a strategic review of a training academy in the financial sector, and produced the data analysis and underlying research for a city-wide vocational skills strategy. We have also undertaken pro bono work for the World Bank and British Council.
